
This later era Victorian cabinet card has a lot of character, although the purpose of these stacked women is not known. I've speculated that perhaps they are a group of suffragists. However, I have no real evidence of this, other than the fact that their dress seems progressive for the era and the poses are very assertive. A variety of explanations is possible. They may have been in a play, students-- it's hard to know.
