The Beast of the City- 1932 Photoplay

This is the 1932 photoplay edition for the Jean Harlow film "The Beast of the City." Lavishly illustrated by Mach Tey, the dust jacket is painted with popping colors, especially the portrait of the ever-elegant Harlow. I haven't seen this pre-code gangster flick, but you don't need to see the movie to appreciate this piece of American illustration. Movie-tie-in editions began in the nineteen-teens, and editions such as this one are hard to come by.
